1. Special Features of PACK CHECKER COD:
COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) primarily reacts with organic materials in the water and indicates the degree of water deterioration. A high COD level could mean that the performance of your filters is declining, you have too many fish, or you are not chang ing your water enough. If the measured level of COD is too high, you should treat your water by changing it or some other appropriate method.
2. Precautions for Measurement (Chemical Oxygen Demand):
•The time it takes to complete a measurement varies with water temperature. Look at the graph on the above to determine measurement time.
•Dirty container or hand may have a big impact on the pH level of water. Make sure to make a measurement in a clean environment.
•lf half of the Packtube is not filled with water at one go, hold the Packtube with the opening facing up and let some air out. Then, insert into the water and suck some water in again. Too much or too little will not give a valid measurement.
•NEVER release the reagent inside the Packtube into the aquarium water.
•The reagent may remain undissolved inside the Packtube. It does not affect the test result. After it changes color, returning the string to the hole will keep the contents from leaking.
•Examine the color result under daylight. Examination could be difficult under direct sunlight, some fluorescent, mercury or LED lights.
•Do not leave the used Packtube undisposed. Wrap it in paper and dispose as combus tible waste.
•Once the laminated package is opened, use this product as early as possible. The reagent may deteriorate especially during summer and rainy season depending on storage conditions.
3. Precautions for Handling:
•This product contains a small amount of chemical agent. Read this instruction manual before using this product.
•DO NOT release the reagent out of the Packtube before or after use.
•The reagent contained in Packtube is strong alkali. Do NOT get it into your eyes. In case of accidental eye contact, wash the affected eye with water immediately for 15 minutes, and seek medical attention even if you feel no pain or discomfort.
•lf the reagent comes in contact with your skin or clothing wash away immediately
with water.
•If the reagent goes into your mouth, immediately wash your mouth out with water. Olf you swallow the reagent or if feel discomfort after following the steps above,
immediately consult with a doctor.
•KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Store this product in a cool, dark, dry place. Do not leave the used Packtube undisposed. Wrap it in paper and dispose as combustible waste.
•In case of any abnormalities in this product or if you require any further information, please contact your local ADA distributor (http://www.adana.co.jp/en/distributors).
