1. Special Features of PACK CHECKER NO3
In an aquarium biological filtration is functioning well, Nitrite (NO2) is quickly converted to harmless Nitrate (NO3), which is absorbed by aquatic plants as a nutrient. But excessive amount of NO3 becomes a cause of algae outbreak. So measure the value of NO3 regularly, and use it for determining the time of water change.
2. Precautions for Measurement (Nitrate)：
•Nitrite (NO2) in the water will cause test result to be unreliable. Make sure that there is no Nitrite in the water before conducting the test.
•When Nitrite (NO2) is found in the water, the estimate of Nitrate (NO3) can be calculated as follow;
(1) Test the Nitrite (NO2) level with Pack Checker NO2.
(2) Test the Nitrate (NO3) level with Pack Checker NO3.
(3) (Test result of NO3 - Test result of NO2) x 10 = Estimated Nitrate (NO3) level.
•lf a half of the Packtube is not filled with water at one go, hold the Packtube with its
opening facing up and let the air out. Then, suck the water again.
•NEVER release the reagent inside the Packtube into the aquarium water.
•Once filled with water, be sure to shake about 10 times in order to mix with reagent.
•If not mixed well, the test result turns out to be low.
•Reagent may remain undissolved inside the Packtube. This will not affect the result.
•In order to make a precise NO3 test, ph level must be less than 9.
•The test must be conducted with water temperature between 15-40°C
•Evaluate the color in a light place. Examining the color result may become difficult under some types of fluorescent lamps and mercury vapor lamps.
•Do not leave the used Packtube undisposed. Wrap it in paper and dispose as combustible waste.
•Once the laminated package is opened, use this product as early as possible.
•Depending on storage conditions, reagent may deteriorate over a few days espe cially during the summer or wet season.
•After it changes color, returning the string to the hole will keep the contents from leaking.
3. Precautions for Handling：
•This product contains a small amount of chemical agent. Read this instruction manual before using this product.
•NEVER release the regent inside the Packtube before and after using this product.
•In case of accidental eye contact, wash the affected area immediately with running water.
•In case of accidental skin contact or contact to clothes, wash the affected area immediately with running water.
•lf the reagent gets in the mouth, immediately wash it away with running water.
•In case of accidental ingestion or any abnormalities after necessary measures mentioned above are taken, seek prompt medical attention.
•KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Store this product in a cool, dark, dry place.
•Do not leave the used Packtube undisposed. Wrap it in paper and dispose as
combustible waste.
